How to Compost There are a few ways to compost: 1. You can pile up your material and let it sit there until it decomposes.
This will take a considerable amount of time. 2.
Or you can turn it with a pitch fork periodically. This will lesson the time, but still will take
a few month. 3. The quickest and easiest way, is to use one of our
compost tumblers to compost your materials. · Collect your compost material · Mulch
it up if possible · Fill tumbler 3/4th of the way up · Turn tumbler
once a day In 3 to 4 weeks you have rich usable compost for your
garden.
Materials for Composting You may not have access to all the materials on this list. That is
ok. A few items on this list will be suffice along with the kitchen scraps of the fruits and vegetables
that you ate during the week. ·Grass clippings · Leaves · Hay or straw · Horse, cow, goats . rabbit and /or chicken manure · Hedge clippings · Wood chips · Shredded paper and cardboard · Wood ash (small quantities) · Kitchen scraps 1. Peals of all citrus fruits, potatoes, zucchini, banana… 2. Watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew rinds (cut
up into small pieces) 3. Stems of all fruits and vegetables, etc… 4. Egg shells 5. Coffee and tea grounds (better if dried first before adding) **No milk, dairy, meat or bone
